The first part of our amazing South American trip took us to the beautiful beach resort town of Punta Del Este. Located on the coast of Uruguay it's a hotspot for the "in" crowd from all around Latin America and is sometimes thought of as the San Tropez of South America.

A three day vacation up in the North East of Brazil was a perfect break. Salvador is a city with a lot of history. It's the capital of Bahia and is one of the most famous places to find Capoeira, Samba, Brazilian food, and other Brazilian cultural things.

BJJ Beach Camp

Brazilian Jiu-jitsu beach camp at Guaruja Beach, one hour from Sao Paulo. Held by Renato Migliaccio. Awesome trainiing. A couple guys from Belgium were there to experience Jiu-jitsu as it is practiced in it's place of origin, Brazil.

Finally..after two years, I was able to win my division at the Sao Paulo State Jiu-jitsu championships. The hard training finally paid off and I was able to stand at the top of the podium

PHUNK party in Rio
|

A very cool underground Phunk party which happens once a month in an abandoned building
in downtown Rio de Janeiro. Me and my girlfriend met up with a bunch of friends there and
had a great time. Cheap, cheap beer. Great, great music. Awesome company. I love Rio!

Two weeks back in the U.S...and some amazing things happened. I taught my little brother(4 yrs old) to write a perfect letter "K"...I picked my other little brother(11 yrs old) up from his first day of Jr. High School. Little things in life sometimes are bigger than we think. I also got to watch my Grandma workout at her hospital rehabilitation center. Go Gramma! She was on the treadmill, stationary bike and some other machines sweatin' away. Was great! I also spent some amazing time with my Mom who flew out from L.A. so we could hang out in Florida for a week. I hadn't seen her in a year and I can tell you the first hug was really amazing! Missed you Mom. Got to talk to my Dad about my future business plans and get his advice and input. Spent time with my Aunt partying a little... And also planning out our strategy for opening a Martial Arts and Fitness Gym in South Florida within the next few years...Overall was a really great time. Didn't get to visit California or many friends, but next time for sure that'll be top on my list. Also, visiting my Grandfather in Colorado will be a must.

Vila Madelena...
|
|
|
Vila Madelena is a cool neighborhood in Sao Paulo to hang out and grab a drink with friends...Tons of bars and cool music. People in the streets, in front of bars on the sidewalk, and crowded inside waiting for drinks. A very cool place to talk, laugh, and relax. This night was extra cool because we just got back from my friends' Grandmother's Birthday party. We were stuffed with pizza and drinks. Me, Nathy, Vanessa, and Gi headed out for some drinks and crazy Bruno and Bruno came along for some fun ; )
